Hi! I'm Sarah!​

 

I am the hands and heart behind An Extra Set of Hands. I graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Education (Honours) from Brock University in 2017. After graduating university, I moved back home and had time to catch up with my friends and family. With school being done, I had the privilege of more free time and my eyes were opened to a need in my community. I saw that there were many wonderful people who would benefit from having someone fill in the small gaps, that would allow them to stay independent in their own home for longer, or, make their everyday life a little simpler. This led to the creation of An Extra Set of Hands. Since then, I have been so blessed to create friendships with some of the most amazing, intelligent, hilarious, fun, knowledgeable people ever!  

 

I am currently enrolled part-time in the Midwifery Education Program at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University) to become a future midwife (midwife: "a health-care professional who provides government-funded expert primary care to pregnant people and their newborns through pregnancy, labour, birth and the first six weeks after birth" (Association of Ontario Midwives, 2020)). I have played competitive level soccer for the past 20 years and I still get excited butterflies in my stomach before every game. I enjoy working out, going to the beach, hiking, learning about birth, campfires, rollerblading, and have planted my first vegetable garden this summer (2020). I will be the first person you speak with when inquiring about An Extra Set of Hands. I look forward to meeting you!
